I notice that Brooks Kieshnick was called up to AAA Round Rock. I wonder if the Astros see him as a potential call up to the big league club in the near future? Right-hander Ezequiel Astacio will be called up Wednesday to start against the Pirates.

The Astros may have considered Wandy Rodriguez as Brandon Duckworth's replacement, but Astacio is the safer choice, despite his 4.63 in four starts for Triple-A Round Rock. The 25-year-old may be ready to be an average fifth starter, though little more than that should be expected for now.

I knew he wasn't hitting well, but finally looked up the numbers today: .222/.316/.381 In fact, we've been complaining about Everett, but Bagwell only has a 9 pt advantage in OPS over Everett with much higher expectations.
