Bud Norris fanned eight in five scoreless innings Saturday for Double-A Corpus Christi.
A strong winter in Hawaii was sufficient to get Norris jumped past high-A Salem right to Double-A this year. He had a 4.56 ERA last year while making all but
one of his starts at low-A Lexington, but he struck out 119 and allowed just 89 hits in 102 2/3 innings. He projects as a setup man for the Astros, though
he'll have a chance of making it as a starter if he improves his command...........

Any relation to old Chuck-a-roo?
Probably not, but it was worth a stab at least. By the way, I didn't realize Chuck Norris was from Ryan, Oklahoma. I've heard of Ryan, Oklahoma before and I know it's a really small town. An old Western Movie I saw on AMC was filmed there... Here's some interesting facts about Ryan, Oklahoma according to Wikipedia... Ryan, Oklahoma - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 78.5 males. It seems like I need to move to Ryan, Oklahoma.

Everything I've read has him moving to the pen, but he's throwing a good low 90's fastball and has the best curve in our minor league system. If
he can hone another pitch, like a change, then we should be trying to keep him in the rotation. I already think Gervacio and Paulino are destined for the pen,
one because of makeup and one because of health concerns. We need another solid starter and the fact that they've pushed Norris so quickly should tell you
something about what the team thinks of him.

Definitely looks like our best pitching prospect right now. If he keeps this up he might even be able to make it to the bigs by the end of the year (though
doing so would only make sense if we're in contention and need one more arm). He is suppossed to have a great fastball and curve, its just a matter of
developing other pitches that can keep him in the rotation and out of the pen as a 2 pitch pitcher.
