NOT my choice to see Geary in there. We'll see...

Astros 7, Giants 3 - Bottom of the 9th.
Geoff Geary enters the game to pitch the bottom of the 9th. Randy Winn leads off the bottom of the 9th with a single into right field. I hope this situation doesn't get dicey. I want an easy bottom of the 9th! Just in case, get Jose Valverde warmed up in the bullpen, which he's doing. Molina is up to bat for the Giants... He nearly got drilled in the face... Woah! 2-0 count... Sigh... Get the outs, Geary!

Geary imploding.

Molina grounded out... Wigginton to Berkman.
One out, but the Giants have a runner on second base. Rowand is up to bat for the Giants now.

Hats off to Astros pitching coach Dewey Robinson...perfect time to settle down your pitcher.
1 out left. |

Aaron Rowand flied out to right center field.
Hunter Pence is there to make the catch. Two outs! The Astros are one out away from their 4th win in a row!

Sorry guys. I got interrupted by the Yuku Magician. Looks like the good guys turned it around... like I told ya. You have to love this team's knack for
coming from behind. Most of their wins in May have been after the other team had the lead.
Gee, this is fun.

John Bowker is up to bat for the Giants.
John Bowker worked a full count and the payoff pitch is on the way. Come on, Geary. Just challenge him! John Bowker walked... Sigh... Two runners on base with two outs and Rich Aurilia is up to bat for the Giants. Now Cecil Cooper is bringing in Jose Valverde as the game becomes a save situation. Damn you, Geary! You can't just get three outs! Now we have to use up Valverde!

Geary walks too many batters...here comes Jose...he can make one mistake and survive.

When Valverde has to get only one out each game, I don't mind using him back-to-back. Besides, he had three days rest before yesterday.

Geary has 9 walks in 17 2/3 innings. Only 10 hits. Only 1 HR.

Geary frustrated me a little bit...
The Astros definitely need to add one more reliable arm in the bullpen ( if not starting rotatiom ), if they want to make some serious noise this season.

Rich Aurilia is up to bat for the Giants.
Come on, Jose Valverde! The Astros just need one more out for the win. Rich Aurilia bunted for an infield hit. Bases loaded, two outs for the Giants! The Giants have the potential tying run at the plate now! Nothing can ever be easy, eh? Ray Durham will be the pinch hitter for the Giants.

I do not want to see Berkman bat again in this game.

They sure are letting Jose pad his save stats. Do you suppose somebody wants to make a point of him having more saves than Lidge?

Ray Durham flied out to Jose Cruz Jr. in left field for the final out!
The Giants leave the bases loaded stranded in the bottom of the 9th. I can go relax now... No heart attack for me tonight! Jose Valverde is awesome! What a great game tonight! Astros win! Astros win! Astros win again! Astros win 7-3. Four wins in a row for the red-hot Houston Astros!

This team is on a roll
They turn an ugly start into a W. They just need to IBB Lance. He's as hot as any player I've seen in a l-o-n-g time. |

It's already past midnight and I'm going to listen to some Johnny Cash music as I try to fall asleep, but I doubt I'll sleep much. I'm too
excited about the Houston Astros right now!

The Astros need to make this a perfect 10-0 road trip!
Why not? It's not going to be easy, of course, but that's baseball!

Rotoworld on the Wizard.....
" Roy Oswalt defeated the Giants by allowing three runs over a season-high eight innings on Monday.
Barry Zito matched him for six innings, but used more pitches than Oswalt in the process (of course, he did have the tougher assignment of the two). Since
Oswalt was economical, he was able to get the victory after the Giants' bullpen coughed up a run in the seventh and three in the eighth. The Astros ended
up winning 7-3. It was the fifth straight outing in which Oswalt allowed exactly three earned runs. He's 3-0 in those games and 4-3 with a 5.05 ERA
overall."........
Sweet dreams cyberspace |

In a post game snippet, I thought I heard Cooper call Lance, "The Big Puma." I was in another room, so it wasn't completely clear, but if I heard right, it sounded a bit funny coming from the Manager. |
