I thought there was a problem with the ac system... not sure if that was fixed or not.
But i went to the games on thursday and friday and had no problems. sunday's game was cool enough too, but maybe cause i lucked into some club level seats and the club level ac was cool on the inside part. But other games this season haven't been as pleasant, but some have....so i dunno. I thought the prices were high too, but i think the beer prices aren't too outrageous. 9.25 for a 24 oz shiner/corona isn't great, but that's what? 4.75ish for a normal 12 oz? i've paid more in a bar for less. of course, i don't go to those places too often because $5-$6 for a beer is ridiculous, but they aren't that over the top. But 7.25/7.75 bucks for a 16 oz miller lite/bud light is over the top for me. Most of the food choices are ridiculous though. Although the big bamboo seems to be a relatively decent deal, and the club level pizza at $5 is better than the digorno personal pizzas that are $7 i think. I pretty much avoid the peanuts, popcorn, hot dogs, and such, as they aren't the best deals in the place. Although, next time i go, i'm getting free pizza, we lucked out with the digiorno lucky row on sunday! Anyone want copies of the unbarcoded yellow strips of paper that are good until the end of the season? heh. But games with the roof open in april/early may are pretty sweet. My biggest problem is sitting on the first base side on afternoon games or for the first couple innings when days get longer, the sun is blinding. |

I'm sorry, but I object to paying more than seven bucks for Domestic swill when I can go to Spec's and get a six pack of longnecks of any beer in the
world for the same amount. There actually is a bar in the Northeast that will give you a glass of water when you ask for Bud Light or Miller Light. I figure
that sounds about right. That being said, MMP ranks in a solid middle of the pack of the new stadiums I've been to. Coors Field and Camden Yards are tough
to beat, but it compares favorably with Citizens Bank and Ameriquest Field. It kicks BOB's ass.

Danocaster, Obviously pretentious A-holes are the ones going to that bar. It's kind of like going to that restaurant in Dallas where they cut your tie off.
You have to know that going in and I've seen some hideous ties on the walls.

Then, when my wife's friend told me that she paid freaking $4 for the 20 oz bottled water in her hand, to wash down her caesar salad, I really knew that I had a bargain with the fajita. Thanks again Pat. I will be visiting that fajita cart in the future. As for the temperature in MMP, I was comfortable tonight. However, I have been to games before when it seems a bit stuffy, but not tonight, despite the boring game and inept Astros' offense. The fireworks were a nice addition and this year there wasn't near the delay as in past years. Too bad the Astros lost. It sort of put a downer on the show. |

That sure does sound tasty. If I wasn't already eating some James Coney Island hot dogs right now. Foot long size with cheese and chili sprinkled on top. Some relish, of course... Mixed in with a little ketchup.Ryan, there are ways to beat Houston's lack of being a healthy city and it all starts with NOT going to places like James Coney Island or Whataburger. And four or five states? Ever try Austin? It's only 180 miles or so away and 180 degrees in the other direction as far as fitness and healthy lifestyles go. A tad less on the humidity also and depending on the location in town your view can be spectacular. About the stadiums listed, MMP is great. It's my home as a fan and there's NOTHING I would change about it. Sure, there are quirks, but I've been to other stadiums and enjoyed every experience equally for different reasons, but there's no place like home when it comes to being a fan. MMP+playoffs are without a doubt the best place to be in October. I love hanging on every pitch, like we're David and the Braves, Cards or whoever else is Goliath and knowing the loudness of the stadium will overcome the visiting team. |
