Berkman K's against Halladay. The AL pitchers are dominating the NL hitters so far.

PUMA!
Berkman with his catlike reflexes saves an errant high throw by ramirez to keep bradley at first. bradley then picked off first, which of course doesn't happen if berkman doesn't make the play on the throw. |

Is the American League getting some good call from the umpires? The strike zone is pretty wide for the American pitchers. Pujols was safe at second but I
only have the TV version. Is Chase Utley an all-star? Lance puts it to Mr. Ego, Bradly!

Matt Holliday goes yard in a hurry for the NL to lead off the 5th. 1-0.

Pujols was safe at 2d, based on the TV replay.....but it took extra-slo mo and a close up to see it. Hard to blame the umpire much on the call, since it was
really close.
Now Holliday hits a HR to put the NL ahead 1-0. |

MadonnA-rod goes out and Crede comes in to replace.
Holliday smacked his homer off Ervin don't call me the Johan Santana. Oh and Utley is an allstar... because why else would the NY fans boo him at the derby? "Boo? *&^% you." |

Berkman with a long fly to Hamilton that scores Ramirez. 2-0. 1 out in the 6th.
Jeter gets replaced. |

7th inning stretch time. NL still up 2-0.
Nathan just had a fairly easy 1-2-3. Morneau, Kinsler and Varitek due up for the AL. Tejada scheduled to lead off the 8th for the NL, unless he gets replaced in the bottom of the 7th... Volquez comes in, and I'm not sure it's wise to put the youngster in there right now... and Morneau smacks one to right, Hart can't come up with it and Morneau gets a double with 0 out. Tejada gets the grounder and guns down Kinsler. Morneau moves up. Navarro comes in for Varitek. AL has one bench position player left. He strikes out. Francona playing for the tie?

Yankees fans don't know what to do, but they somehow cheer for Red Sox J.D. Drew's 2 run dinger (in his first all star ab).... Had that feeling about
Volquez...
Then he retires the next hitter easily... Tejada supposed to be coming up. C'mon Miggy. I mean the NL has to win home field when the Stros have no shot at getting there right?

Miggy steals second and goes to third on a bad throw/catch....
Then scores on Berkman's replacement Gonzalez's sac fly. Yankee fans giving it to Papelbon. Would it be fitting for the Yanks to somehow make the Series and the NL to have won the game, because the fans got to Pap? Heh. |

and now it's Wagner on the mound for the NL replacing Wilson to face Longoria, unfortunately not the female one.... Lidge up in the pen.... Wagner to
Lidge... that's something I don't think I would've ever thought I would see...
Sizemore steals another bag for the AL. I think that's six on the night... Right on cue... Wagner blows it. Longoria with a ground rule double. 3-3. Morneau goes down on a footrace against Wagner to first to end the inning... If the NL gets the lead, could this break Lidge for the phils if he blows it? Apparently the NL is in better shape for extras than the AL, at least pitching staffwise....

Tell me the N.L.'s fate isn't in the hands of Brad Lidge in Yankee stadium, to break the 10 game losing streak? LOL this should be interesting.
Although I sure wish we had him back considering Michael Bourns play.
