What a horrible night for Uggla.
The Real HR Leaders
Aaron 755, Ruth 714, Mays 660, Griffey, Jr. 608, F. Robinson 586
I started out with nothing...and I still have most of it.

Sherrill took out Gonzalez on three straight strikes.
Cook still in there for some reason gives up a double to Guillen leading off. Uggla is having a tough night, drops a ball, but still gets the runner at first. Guillen to third. |

Cook is a magician. Gets out of that one too. On to 13... bad luck to strike?
AL is on the ropes pitcher wise.... they wouldnt call it a tie if only one team is out of pitchers would they? |

On to the 13th. Sherrill should go the 13th. I doubt Cook goes a 4th, but he is a starter and is Hurdle's pitcher, so we'll see.

OK, now I'm starting to feel bad for Uggla.
Isn't it Southwest Airlines with the commercial when you want to get away or something like that?

On to the 14th....
Yea if Uggla has a bad ankle, he either shouldn't have been on the team or they should've got someone who could play second and use him briefly... you know the Marlins aren't happy he's still playing on a bum ankle... he's played almost a full game now. |

LMAO Dan Uggla has embarrassed himself, this will be his final all-star game. People will remember his errors for as long as they live. That's like one
of those things you can't live down.

I think I'd bring Lidge in and let him go 2. By that time, Kazmir will have been in and the AL just might have to call it off.

Somewhere around the 12 this went from a classic to can it end already? Seriously, the pitchers held back seem to be heads and heels above the reserve position
players offensively.
Pitching and defense.... MLB has do something about the game, maybe take away that world series homefield or something (make players go 6/7 innings minimum or something)... Webb in. Lidge still available. Lincecum out. Kazmir still in the pen for the AL. Tejada with a killer stab for the 1st out. |

I am starting to smell a Selig in the air! Will he bail out the helpless American League all-star Pitchers or lack of. He is probably praying for a miracle
home run to bail him out!
Full Speed Ahead! Fire At Will!

zachdevil wrote: Don't know about that, zach. He definitely embarrassed himself in the 10th, but that E in the 13th was no error. Terrible hop. It not only came up, but it went sideways too. Anyway, if they can get to the 15th, Uggla leads off and will have a chance to redeem himself. Even though he's failed on 2 other occasions, each AB is a new chance. I definitely feel bad for him, and I don't think he'll blame it on his ankle. Oops. While I'm still typing this post, Uggla K's vs. Kazmir.
Speedy08 wrote: I wonder how many Kazmir is going to pitch. I don't have a good feeling about this. With the game in NY, you know if the AL runs out of pitchers, they'll call the game a tie. Uggla up once more to make good. Kazmir comes in for the 15th and gets him.
Just about bed time. Not sure if i want to miss either Lidge blowing it or a tie. Come on NL. If it keeps going, Francona should have to bring in a position player to pitch and move Kazmir to first or something. |

Bot 15 coming up and I feel the cruelest of cruel inventions already ringing in my ears, and calling it a night. Good luck those staying for the rest.
Just think if they started all the pregame stuff at 6, it'd only be 11:30. not really but heh..... Lidge in. Will it be his first blown save of the season? Find out in 6 hours. |

Dak05 wrote: The problem with that is, I don't think the AL has any more position players. The only loophole is that if there's an injury, the catcher can come back in the game. Perhaps Selig can bend the rules to allow Varitek to come in and pitch. Yea right! |

Kazmir throws 14 pitches that inning. It'll be interesting to see what happens if this goes to the 16th.
Lidge in now. This is it for the NL. Lidge can go 2 though. Provided he doesn't give up a run here of course.

Now the NL brings in Lidge, effectively putting themselves in the same position as the AL, but the NL has to pitch the bottom of the inning if they take the
lead. This is really a crock.
