Not so fast.

Is Scott going to start on any semblance of a routine basis?

No.

That means the comparison lies between Scott's usefulness off the bench versus Willy T's.

Scott is an average left fielder. While he has yet to be able to hit for average in the majors, he certainly could supply some power from the left side.

Taveras is a better than average center fielder. He is strictly a singles hitter. He is still not the incredible base stealing threat everyone knows he ought to be, but he is nevertheless the team leader in that department, and as we know, always a threat to score even from 1B.

In the 9th inning, given the other tools on the bench, which is more valuable.

We have Munson, and sometimes Lamb coming off the bench with the same power as Scott. So, give me the guy who can cover MMP's CF, and whose speed is a threat, even if it's not yet the threat it ought to present.... no question.
