I missed a few episodes and I'm a little lost at times.

Chandler, we watch Carnivale every week & we are a little lost ALL the time. :lol

A LOT happened to the blind guy (Professor Lodz)! You must have missed the final episode of Series 1.

Management tested Bens powers by having Lodz arrange for Ruthie to be bitten by a poisonous snake. Ruthie died; Ben tried to restore her, but failed. He turned to Lodz and Mgmnt for help. He was to take a life to give a life but couldnt bring himself to do it (Thats Gods work.). Mgmnt then revealed that Lodz was responsible for Ruthies death. In a rage, Ben strangled Lodz, and Ruthie revived. Samson and Ben wrapped up Lodz body and left it in a ravine.

Ruthie doesnt realize she has been revived from death, and has been seeing ghosts, including that of Lodz. At the end of the last episode, Ruthie walked into Lilas trailer and asked (in Lodz voice) Wheres the boy? then fainted.

Meanwhile, Apollonia trapped Sophie inside the bus and set it on fire to kill them both. Sophie was rescued; Appy died. Appys ghost has been trailing Sophie and warning her against Ben -- not that its made any difference.

Brother Justin and Ben? I think BJ is the creature of dark, or antichrist, and Ben is the reluctant creature of light, and that eventually the big showdown will be between those two. Sophie probably has a major part to play, but who knows what.

Deadwood is a pleasure to watch; you dont have to crack your brain to figure out all the scheming! Season 2 looks just as graphically rich as -- and possibly more violent than -- Season 1. Calamity Jane was a hoot. The town featured some accomplished cussers, but she was especially impressive! Did you know that historically, Wyatt Earp and one of his brothers (Morgan maybe) briefly visited Deadwood just about the time the series takes place? Theyd be a fine addition, even if only temporary. Quite a few of the main characters are historical figures, including Swearengen and Bullock. Not sure about that sneaking E.B. Farnum though. :smokin
