My problem is the file SDHelper.dll that was installed when my daughter downloaded SpyBot a year ago.

SDHelper.dll is an Application Extension file that denies access to me. I get the "make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use" message.

I just love that the computer and programs I paid for are denying me access.

When I uninstalled SpyBot a couple of days ago (thinking that might be why the Microsoft link James provided wouldn't download) it told me there were some files that had to be deleted manually.

Fine, I found the files. But I don't have access to delete them.

So, I didn't want to be without any spyware (since I deleted MOST of SpyBot.) I tried downloading spyware doctor. It too, errored out halfway through.

I know when I bought and downloaded Norton, I had to uninstall any virus protection I already had (free from Dell.) So I assumed the Microsoft sypware errored out because I already had spyware on the computer (SpyBot.) Hence, why I uninstalled it. I know the computers at work that took the download fine did not have previous spyware downloaded in them.

But it appears there's a file from SpyBot I cannot delete, and no spyware I try to download now will work, because of it's existence.

Does that make sense?
