Bush was the guy in charge so hey he is the one that is blamed for the failure to date to find any wmds.

No, Bush is blamed for starting the war over WMDs when there was no tangible proof that they existed. That is what I mean when I say that Bush has sent over 1300 of our American soldiers to die in Iraq for NOTHING.

Once Bush was convinced that we could invade Iraq and be declared the liberating heroes, everything else was an obstacle -- even the WMD inspectors who just couldn't seem to find anything in Iraq.

I remember all of the disdain cast at the inspectors and the bluster of how we were sending 100,000 "inspectors" of our own to find what the inept UN couldn't. I was hopeful that we would find them, but it become pretty clear after about 3 months that they weren't there.

And you are ignoring the fact that, before 9/11, the Bush administration was pretty adamant that Iraq didn't have any WMD. As Colin Powell stated, the sanctions had worked.

And I disagree with your sentiments about Iraq. Do you know that Iraqis will be voting for political parties and not candidates? Do you know why? Because the candidates don't want their names revealed because they don't want to get assassinated. If you honestly think that "citizens groups" are thriving in that kind of environment, then you have simply moved from one delusion to another.

Although I agree that Bush will pull out the troops. But it's not because Iraq is turning around; it's because there is no more political capital to be made there.
