The simple truth is that American soldiers are in Iraq, killing Iraqi civilians who are resisting the imposition of a new government by an occupying force that, by most accounts, is unwanted by the vast majority of Iraqis.

Let's dissect your statement:

American soldiers are in Iraq - well that is correct.

Killing Iraqi civilians - though that is not the intent in some cases it is the reality. Combine that with the balance of the sentence and it becomes total tripe. The vast majority of the Iraqis are Shiites and they want the new government established. Even the next part of your statement is at best misguided, we are not trying to impose a government. Do you even know what the elections in January are for. Do some research and you may get a clue. The election is to establish who will participate in the writing of the constitution. Not impose a government. That will come in at least 6 more months down the road.

I guess "stealing cars" makes it all worthwhile. After all, we need to protect the world from the dreaded Iraqi car theft cartel.

The important part of that paragraph was what happened when the citizen of Iraq resisted. He was shot. Let's see an American shots a Sunni 12 hours after being shot in the face and 6 hours after watching someone in the same situation get blown away and the world gets really pissed. No double standard there, in your world it is just those thug Americans imposing their will on the poor hard working idyllic Iraqi pure hearts.

We should leave Iraq, let them sort things out, and then make war reparations to the country.

We can not leave - it would be the equivalent of leaving the KKK of the 50s in charge of a black church full of old women and children. Also we are making reparations - last I heard it was over 37 billion and over 50 billion in forgiven debts.
