I don't want Soriano for "rent" if it means giving up good prospects like Hirsh, Pence, or maybe even Scott. The Astros have too many holes for one player to solve. The Astros biggest problem is that they have too many players whose best positions are the same. We have 2 guys who are best suited at 1B -Berkman & Lamb, 2 who are best suited for 2B - Biggio & Burke, 2 who are best suited for 3B - Ensberg & Huff, yet a shortage of quality OF - Lane doesn't hit, Wilson has lost his power & speed, Taveras can hardly get the ball out of the IF, and Scott has yet to prove himself (but is off to a good start now).

If we can ever get to the point where we have the "infield of the future"...Berkman, Burke, Everett, and Ensberg/Huff...then the OF becomes the project. But with Scott & Pence, only 1 more quality OF would do it.

Lamb should bring a lot by now....if we could trade Lidge & Lamb (& maybe a lesser prospect) for Soriano, I'd do it...
