Anyone know how Hirsh's arm pain is coming along? No chance they bring him up until that's all taken care of.

Hirsh Picks Up Record 11th Consecutive Decision

Right-hander has scoreless streak snapped at record 46 2/3 innings

ROUND ROCK Before he bagged one record, Jason Hirsh had to lose hold on one Thursday night.

The right-hander, ranked by Baseball America as the top prospect in the Houston Astros organization, had his streak of consecutive innings without an earned run stopped at a franchise record 46 2/3 innings before picking up a Round Rock record 11th straight decision with a 6-1 win over Fresno.

The previous record for innings without an earned run was held by Kirk Saarloos, who tossed 27 scoreless frames in 2002, the same year he won 10 consecutive games.

Five Round Rock batters collected multiple hits and Charlton Jimerson snapped out of a 4-for-50 slide, going 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI.

Hirsh, who had not allowed an earned run since the fifth inning of a game against Albuquerque on June 13 (six starts), scattered four strikeouts and two hits over the first five innings before finally yielding with two down in the sixth.

Jason Ellison fired a one-out single past the glove of Hirsh and eventually scored on Lance Niekros two-out bloop single to left field.

Hirsh finished with five strikeouts on five hits without a walk over seven innings. He has now fanned 46 on 12 walks and 22 hits over his last 48 innings.

I'd say he's fine.
