We might just have to create a closer. Take a young pitcher with good stuff--maybe a starter--and turn him into the closer. It worked with Wagner, Dotel, and Lidge, each of which made the transition from starter to reliever nicely.

Hey...the majority of these guys don't last forever. For every Dennis Eckerlesly (spelling?) and Lee Smith there are a bunch of guys like Mark Wohlers and John Rocker. It's not a position that grants tenure:lol
