There are a lot of reasons they lost, some related to luck and others related to the same ole obvious weaknesses. I don't think that the construction of the lineup is nearly as significant as lousy managing and relief pitching, but it can be justifiably criticized, imo. It will likely result in many first inning, Berkman at bats with no one on base, but it might make for a livelier second and third inning.

I'm not down on the team or the lineup, but for me, the kick in the gut type loss was particularly painful because I am reminded again that this organization just refuses to learn from its mistakes, and that isn't going to change very soon.
