I agree that the batting tonight was more bad luck than anything. Lee's liner would've been at least one run, maybe more if it shoots the gap, plus opportunities for more runs.

Ausmus also had that screaming liner to 3rd with Burke on 2nd, right before Burke got thrown out on the Oswalt hit.

Back to back lineouts by Ensberg and Scott in the 9th -- in Scott's case another screamer.

Jack Wilson, on the other hand, has two very significant bleeders to shortstop, both resulting in infield singles.

The first bleeder was significant because it led to Oswalt's being pulled with 2 outs and having to bring Wheeler in for one batter in the 7th, only to lose him to a pinch hitter in the bottom half of the inning.

Wilson's second bleeder came right before Bay's HR in the 10th.

Hate for it to happen on the first game of the year, but to me it was more a case of bad luck/bad timing. But I wouldn't be too concerned overall about the bats just yet.
