There is no way Biggio breaks the record on the road. His chase will be the focus of much fanfare at MMP, sellout crowds, etc. Drayton would be foolish to let the milestone happen on the road. The longest homestand of the season is June 28-July 8, 11 games. If Biggio hasn't done it by June 17, just before a West Coast RT, he will be held back.

The Astros can "pace" Biggio so that he plays more sparingly in the run-up to #3000. He's averaging almost a hit per game & is sitting about once a week, so the mid-June homestand will see him very close. So if he's within 5 and the homestand is about to end, I think we'll see Loretta getting most of the 2B time until the Astros return for the long homestand.
