The Tigers put Jeremy Bonderman in the majors at too early an age. He got his "minor league" development at the major league level. Now, just as he is becoming a top line pitcher, he will soon be eligible for free agency. Normally a team expects to reap the benefits of its minor league development by getting some of the player's best or peak years at the major league level. But if the player comes up too early, the team lives with his learning mistakes at the major league level, and then just as he becomes a coveted player, he can be wooed away by teams like the Yankees. This supports the point Danno made.
