As I said earlier, I thought the suicide squeeze was a good call in that situation, as long as you are going to have Aumsus bat...mostly to have a chance at scoring while avoiding the DP. However, I would have preferred a PHer, in which case the squeeze would have been unnecessary.

Lboros at Vivaelbirdos.com, a Cardinals web site, argued that Garner should have used a safety squeeze instead of a suicide squeeze. Certainly, in hindsight, that is true, and he may be right.

His most interesting comment though was about the Cardinals' side of the play. He felt that it was a low percentage, risky play by Wainwright. There was a significant possibility that the Cardinals would get no outs on trying to "paddle" the ball to Molina...it was just a phenomonal play by the Cardinals' players. Now, my perception, after hearing Burke talk about it, is that the Cardinals may have missed the tag at home plate.
