We can all agree that when you have runners on first and third and no outs, the usual play is to hit away. Therefore, if you are going with the suicide squeeze in game four of the season then you are annoucing to the world "OUR HITTER SUCKS BALLS!"

My point with the GIDP is that it would have been the WORST possible result and it still would have netted a run. This doesn't include the best possible result. In a suicide squeeze, the best possible result is runners on first and second with no one out. The most plausible result is runner on second with one out and a run in.

In my last column I said I would not speak ill of Ausmus, so I won't. I'll just simply say that when you are at the point where you feel compelled to make decisions like this you are in bad shape.
