Look guys. I think you all make some good points about Brad and right now this is the best thing for him (not to be closing).

That homerun to Pujols in the playoffs in 2005 depleted his confidence much like it depleted the noise at MMP. Everyone kept saying "Aw, don't worry about Brad. He's tough.". That may have been true but he's human too. When you fail that badly in your job, there are very few professions where it's broadcast on international TV. I don't hold it against Brad but he's now at the same place Mark Wohlers was. He's approaching the same place that Chuck Knoblauch and Steve Sax were in (no, not the Bronx).

Honestly, I can't see Brad as a starter. He'd have to come up with at least two new pitches.

What I wonder openly about is whether or not he's still "tipping" his pitches. Was there ever any evidence for that? To me, his mechanics have looked off since last spring. He seems to overthrow a lot and seems to fall away to first base a good deal more than I recall him doing.
