I said that Lidge would be better off working in Round Rock, however, this passage from Justice's blog indicates that won't happen:

I suggested in an earlier post that the Astros should send him to the minor leagues to allow him to work on his confidence and his fastball. This won't happen. Purpura said Lidge would have to clear waivers, and there's absolutely no way this is going to happen.

To attempt to fix his problems while he's still pitching in the big leagues seems unworkable, but it's the only choice. His career is hanging in the balance. I have no idea if Lidge's career can be saved.
