I like Everett in the second spot in the lineup for obvious reasons: he'll get a lot of pitches to hit in front of Berkman and he has good speed.

But more importantly, he's more succesful from that position in the order than the seventh.

Batting 2nd: .290/.330/.403
Batting 7th: .246/.280/.371

Granted, he has more ABs in the latter position, but the sample size at #2 (almost 400 plate appearances) isn't so small as to be meaningless.
