The final score will never do justice to the type of competitive game this really was.

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi once had a 25-7 lead in this game. They led the game the entire way until about halfway left in the 2nd half, and that was despite the fact Wisconsin had a big 12-2 run to end the 1st half to pull within 27-19 at halftime.

Wisconsin just had too much talent and pride the final 10 minutes of the game. I guess that is why they were a 2 seed and usually have a top 20 recruiting class in the country.

Nonetheless, the Islanders of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi should still feel good they got this far, and they gave a very good team in Wisconsin a scare for most of the game.

FINAL

Chris Daniels finished with 20 points and 9 rebounds. 8 of those points coming from big-time Slam Dunks which seemed to energize the Islanders for most of the game.

I tell you one thing though, I wouldn't mind seeing the Houston Rockets draft a couple of those players I saw from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Mainly their center Chris Daniels who looks like he could be a banger inside at the NBA level. He's 7 foot and a big-muscle guy, and he might be better as a Power Forward in the NBA . The Rockets really don't have a legitimate PF who can bang inside and do the dirty work like that.

Chris Daniels is a senior but is still eligible to return for a 5th year. If he enters the 2007 NBA Draft in June, he could very well be drafted. ( Mid to late 2nd round ). He would be a good 2nd round pick for the Houston Rockets. Definitely better than a 2nd round pick we had a while back, named Malick Badiane.

Chris Daniels reminds me a little of Kelvin Cato, but with smarter skills, more intelligence, and better heart.

Anyway, Texas Longhorns and Texas A&M Aggies are the only two Texas teams left in the NCAA Tournament.
