I'd take Durant. Oden will be a great NBA player, but Durant is at least the second best 18 year old I've ever seen. He'll be more of an inside presence than people think. He's not Tracy McGrady. Durant can rebound with the big bodies, he's smart and with a little extra work he can defend anyone. When Texas is in that 3-2 zone and Durant's working it it's extremely difficult to get a pass into the post.
Oden needs to prove he has more offensive game to go #1 I think. He's a tremendous defensive player, but he's got to put in 20 a game to be as valueable as Durant I think. Durant would be crazy to go back to school next year. He has some things to improve on still, but playing against inferior competition for another season isn't going to help him improve on it as quickly and staying back a year won't earn him any extra money. In fact, his stock can't get any higher heading into the draft than it already is. Ask Joakim Noah how much money you can lose giving NBA scouts and college coaches one more year to find your weaknesses. Big XII teams have already begun to adapt to him defensively.
