Ideal Draft, IMO:

Round 1: LaRon Landry Safety. Arguable the potential best player available with our pick plus adresses a need. As long as Quinn doesn't drop to number six I think this'll likely be our pick. Unless, of course, the big DTs are still around. Namely Branch.

Round 2: Justin Blalock OG. If Arizona or Detroit snaps him up there's still a few more guards that should be available and a plethra of DTs at the top of the second round. We could get stupid lucky and find ourselves with Ross still on the board and if that's the case how can you pass? Imagine if we selected Landry in the first round and put Ross opposite Dunta. Our secondary would go from one of the worst in the league to one of the fastest. Either way I hope we can select a Longhorn here. Half because I'm a homer and half because if either were available it'd make too much sense to pass, IMO.

Round 3: I no longer recognize the names at this point in the draft but there should be a bunch of WR's with question marks still on the board in the third round. I think it's a great round to find a number two receiver. Although I think we should be looking at guys that are great route-runners/posestion guys instead of the speedsters. We have a potential receiver with speed in Mathis. Develop him before putting a similar mold in his way on the depth chart. I think somebody that can just catch those short passes consistantly would help more than somebody that can create separation/stretch the defense. And besides TE we don't have receivers who could really take advantage of that anyways. Either way I think we should be looking for a wide out here.

I think Ryan makes a great point about the O-line. While I disagree because I believe we still need one more starter, I think the logic is definitely there. Anyways, that's my two cents on the draft.
