Considering the market I must say that I'm very pleased with the Texnas offseason so far. Too bad the entire thing seems to hinge on the draft. But I'm confident in our new GM and staff until they prove me wrong.

Hopefully we can find some good talent on the 2nd day of the draft.

The Texans also re-signed Mark Bruener today. More of a leadership role than production. Not to say he's bad, but he's getting up there in age.

On a side note, in the other Texans forum I remember somebody commenting on the Chad Stanely re-sign. He's not the best punter in the world, but I think he's on a streak of something like 120+ punts in a row without a block. That's something I'd probably give up 5-10 yards a punt for.

We may have overpaid for the free agents, especially Green a little bit, but it was worth it to avoid feeling pressure to spend a first day pick on a RB and to provide the depth it did. We can plug Black into the line as a starting LT immediately.

If we can draft Brown at number 8 or Blalock (or a similar G) in the second round our offensive line, arguably, goes from bad to pretty good and pretty deep.

However that all depends on Charles Spencer. Has anybody heard anything about him lately? I can't find a thing except that he was optimistic towards the end of the season. If he doesn't return than our Oline is still in trouble.
