I only saw bits and pieces of it, but it looked like a bad offensive attack. However, my wife was in labor during the game, so I can't say that I paid a lot of attention......

I will say that it looked like Carr had another lackluster performance. I will say that it isn't fair and he will do better elsewhere, but I think he's played his last game as a Texan. I know QB play SHOULD be pretty low on the agenda, but I just see Owner McNair stepping in and forcing a change. He did say he would be more hands on after not questioning Casserly's moves more. I'm afraid it will take too much for Kubiak to convince him that Carr is the man. Besides, I'm not sure Kubes believes either.

What I do find interesting is that the running game suddenly picked up steam in the last half of the year. This brings us to three undoubtable questions:

1) Is Wali Lundy that bad that a discharged veteran and undrafted rookie could outperform him to that level?

2) Is this a case of the offensive line taking half a season to learn a slightly new scheme?

3) Is this just a case of improved offensive play for some other reason?

Essentially, these questions open the door to a lot of questions. It is pretty clear they need help on the offensive side of the ball. The defense was actually pretty good after starting 0-3. However, I can't pinpoint what needs to be fixed more (RB or OL). I can't say I want Ephraim Salaam at OT anymore, but Winston might improve and Spencer should be back. The pundits said McKinney played well as well when he was moved to center. I would say this points more towards picking a running back, but you had either Taylor or Dayne gain 80 or more yards in the last five or six games.

This is where Rick Smith earns his money. It's easy to make picks when you have glaring holes. It's more difficult when you have a lot of mediocre players in spots. I think we all agree QB and WR shouldn't be targets, but that still leavs a lot open. If they pick defense it will piss a lot of people off, that's all I know.
I'm down with OBP (yeah you know me).
