Good point. What I'm wondering is if they could bring him in to be a one or two year stopgap while they continue to beef of the the OL and running game. Signing a QB to a free agent contract means you don't have to draft one initially. Or, they could choose one in the later rounds and let him develop at his own pace. I think it was a huge mistake to throw a rookie in without any support around him. If they build a good team around a QB then a rookie (or young) QB will likely be successful.
