I think y'all make too many excuses for him. I mean, if someone says "Carr is the reason the Texans suck," then yes, all those deficiencies are a rebuttal. In other words, it is true that the Texans suck becuase of injuries, a crappy O-line, secondary, etc. No QB could overcome that dynamic. But all those reasons still leave the basic question unanswered: Should he be the QB for the Texans, even if we accept the fact that until those other weaknesses are addressed, the Texans will be bad.

I often read that we cannot do a proper evaluation of Carr until X,Y, Z, but I don't buy that. One can have informed opinions of Carr based on his performance with a less than impressive cast. Personally, I am of the camp that he lacks those intangibles of thinking under pressure and inspiring his teammates during stressful moments. The Texans could certainly make the playoffs with Carr and a good supporting cast, but I really cannot imagine him excelling (or even performing normally) under intense playoff pressure. I just don't see him as a long term answer. That being said, the Texans are at least three years away, imo, and could certainly afford to give him the opportunity to prove doubters like me wrong.
