When my old tube TV went out in December my wife and I decided that our joint Christmas present to each other would be a HDTV. We didn't have a ton of money to spent, but found a decent, but not huge (32") one that we liked the picture quality of...not a big name brand, so the price was right. We ended up spending between $500-600 on it I think and it's been one of the best entertainment purchases we've made in a long time. If you really believe that there's not much difference between watching a game in standard definition and HD, more power to you, but to me the difference is amazing! Just flipping between a SD and HD version of the same game when it's being broadcast both ways will instantly show just how beautiful a HD baseball game looks. It's the next best thing to buying a ticket and being at the ballpark. And since I live 3 hours from MMP, it's definitely worth it to me. Plus, pairing this with MLB Extra Innings lets me "visit" parks around the country every day in beautiful HD! I soooo wish that every game was available in HD, but understand that it's just not quite there yet...hopefully it will be that way in the very near future.

Anyway, I'm not knocking anyone who's not a HD believer...I'm a new convert myself. I'll take baseball however I can get it, but if I can sit here in my living room in front of a nice HD broadcast of an Astros game, well, I'm quite happy :)
