there isn't a lot of interest in the Astros just yet so the hosts are seeing that and deciding to move on.

The Astros have to play better in order to create more fan interest, otherwise it's going to be another long and boring summer with many empty seats scattered around at Minute Maid Park.

I want to see big games all season long, and I'm hoping the Houston Astros are still relevant in the NL Central standings when the 2008 NFL season starts.

If I were hosting my own radio show, I wouldn't want to discuss the Houston Astros right now and I'm just being honest.

I'd be talking about the upcoming NFL Draft and the Houston Texans, and I'll probably spend some time discussing the Houston Rockets and the upcoming 2008 NBA Playoffs.

Even without Yao Ming, I think the Rockets have a chance to advance past the first round of the playoffs for the first time in eleven years -- especially if they get a first-round matchup against the Utah Jazz or L.A. Lakers.

Heck, I'd rather talk about movies and music instead of the Houston Astros right now.

Starting the 2008 regular season with seven tough road games against the Padres and Cubs wasn't an easy task for any team ( The Brewers and Cardinals would probably go 3-4 or 2-5 if they played the same seven games ), and it does comfort me a little bit to know the Astros will play an incredibly easy schedule much later in the season.

We'll see what happens...
