. . . . . Pence batting leadoff? Wow. The only way this team succeeds is having:

Borne- CF
Matsui- 2B
Tejada- SS
Berkman- 1B
Lee- LF
Wigginton- 3B
Pence- RF
Quintero- C

After tonight, should Commander Cecil trot out the same lineup as last night, we'll see the same result, maybe worse.

I actually am rooting for the Astros to lose a few more, say the rest of the weekend to make it at least to 11 in a row so Ed Wade feels compelled to do something. If, by some miracle, Cecil actually manages to win a few in a row, it'll be a long season in 4th or 5th place.

I feel your pain, LongLive, but FWIW, the past two night's lineups were essentially what you proposed except with Pence and Wigginton flip-flopped and Erstad/Blum inserted between them due to the DH in the lineup. I agree though that Pence should not be batting leadoff and there was a discussion in another thread recently that included statistics showing that Pence is much more valuable when he's in an RBI, swing-away position in the lineup.
