You forgot Ty Wigginton also. Although not the most talented player, he's a gamer and he's showing me that he understands the offensive game. He's not FAPPW<2S all the time like several other players on this team. Wiggy had 3 BBs tonight. He is 2nd on the team in OBP, which improved tonight. That is the 2nd game this season he's had 3 BBs. Only one other Astros' hitter has done it this season. Can anyone guess who? Now, now, don't check the stats. Just guess.

It's not his fault, but Ty Wigginton has never played on a team that was good.

That's just a weird fact and nothing more.

There's no point to what I'm typing here.

Look at his entire career... Has he ever played for a winning team?

Every team he's been on... They're a very bad team, which is now going to include the 2008 Houston Astros among his long career up to this point.

Mets, Pirates, Devil Rays and Astros... All losing seasons when he was there.

I mentioned this ( tongue-in-cheek joke ) the day after the Astros traded Dan Wheeler to Tampa Bay for Ty Wigginton, but we were getting a player who quite frankly doesn't know what it feels like to play for a winning organization.

He's simply not the type of ballplayer you associate with a winning ball club.

No disrespect to him. As I said, it's not his fault.

As Clack once said, he's a statue on defense. I agree with that at the very least.

I also agree that Ty Wigginton is a decent ballplayer, but I'd gladly upgrade the third base position if I could. Unfortunately, that's further down the list of needs.
