Side note I thought Richard Justice had a surprisingly good point when he commented that with the Rockets doing well and if the Texans preform well this year it should push McLane into really making a solid effort to get some big names here.

What? Rockets doing well? All I remember is a bunch of grumbling about how T-Mac sucks and the Rockets are never gonna get out of the 1st round with T-Mac and Yao, and that it's time to break up the team by trading T-Mac. I don't agree with the grumblings, but I also don't think that Justice is in the majority with the view that the Rockets are doing well. Maybe he's still living in 1995.

Even so, outside of a big name pitcher for whom I don't want the Astros to overpay (years or dollars - is that even possible in this MLB market?), I'm not sure that's the right way to go anymore. The Astros have played the free agent market for several years now and look where it's gotten them. Uncle Drayton needs to spend his money on the depleted farm system. It should be the #1 priority, at least.
