Anyone that collected baseball cards in the 1980s remembers the name Gregg Jefferies. He went on to have a decent career with the Mets, Cards, and Tigers. Yet, when he was in the Mets minor league system he was supposed to be the second coming of Rogers Hornsby. I respect Baseball America, John Sickels, and the like, but they are nothing more than bondsman betting on futures. Give me five all-stars from a six or seven year period and I will deliver you a playoff birth. It shouldn't matter that they were only players.
Greg Jefferies. I remember having 3 different bands of his rookie card back in the day. Good stuff. I also remember when Jose Canseco's rookiee card was actually worth something. There were some pretty decent guys that camee out of that 86 Donruss rookie card set back in the day.
