Pat,

I was saying that we should not have even won 83 games (which excludes the 2 losses to the Cubs but was admittedly still off by one). I'm not a big fan of pythag as a precise indicator, but it is at least a ballpark indicator and I can't think of a single team has gone back to back winning seasons with fewer runs scored than allowed. That means we need to find a way to score not only more runs, but quite a few more runs scored than allowed. How do we plan to make up that 100 run chasm between being about 50 runs under to 50 runs over? Staying the course and resigning Wolf is not the way achieve such a goal. It might net us a .500 record.
