Barzilla, but I don't know if the Indians will be willing to pick up additional salary, especially for a closer and the Tigers seem to need more than a closer if they want to be good in 2009?

I mean heck, the Tigers are worse than the Royals right now!

Hmm, do the Royals need a closer? LOL...

If the Indians were smart, they would already have the two best starting pitchers in all of baseball to build around but let the lack of money prompt them into trading C.C. Sabathia.

Heck, if not for those Indians... The Astros and Mets would have battled for the wild card.

The Mets are the only match I see so far. They're a good team that lacks a closer, especially with Billy Wagner out for all of 2009 and his career is likely over. He'll try to make a recovery for 2010 but that's a long time away.

Cliff Lee was spectacular this season, going 22-3 with a 2.54 ERA.

Not bad for a 30-year-old who's salary was $4 million this year.

But all and all, I think the Astros have to keep Jose Valverde.
