Paulino is the future of this team
I once thought the same thing about Fernando Nieve.

Looks like he's the future of the Mets now!

Another Johan Santana? In terms of a future stud the Astros let get away... ( Too early to tell though ).

Amazing and unhittable he's been in a Mets uniform.

I still think it's too early to let Backe go, give him a few more starts.

If he's still horrible by early to mid August, then I'd let him go.

Mid August is usually when you either make or run or you don't. I think it was 2004 when the Astros were 8 games back of the wild card race, behind 7 teams ( on August the 14th ) and they still went on a big run to take it.

No way the Astros are giving up on June the 25th, only three games back of first place in the loss column.

If you feel Paulino, or even Bud Norris or Bazardo ( some more call ups ) give the Astros a better chance to win games than Brandon Backe, then I'm all for it.

I agree with you, Zach. Pitch the guy who gives you the best chance to win.

I'm just not giving up on this 2009 season, I believe the Astros can make the postseason!

People like Phenomenal Smith, who want the Astros to trade away their veteran talent for prospects, are going to be disappointed. It's more likely the Astros will trade prospects for more veteran talent - buyers not sellers.
