My assumption is that Berkman knows a lot more than you or I do about how he feels when he swings the bat. He has said he can't stand in the box and see the ball well batting LH against LH pitchers. I don't know why I wouldn't believe him.

Clack, that doesn't mean he can't make some changes as he ages. It's obvious to me that his right-handed hitting has declined so much, especially this year. Some people on this forum have already called him a washed up player, but I still believe he's an elite hitter when he always hits left-handed.

As a fan, I'm always excited and feeling confident when he hits left-handed. When he hits right-handed, I almost consider him an automatic out these days, not much better of a hitter than some of our worst hitters.

Didn't Jeff Bagwell once say he could barely see any pitch? He then got rid of his contacts and had lasik-eye surgery to correct the problem, and had a career year in 2000...

There's always a solution to every problem, IMO.

I agree that if he were to make a change, it has to come in the off-season though.
