Clack, at the very least I expected Berkman to produce MVP-caliber numbers this season. Not to say better than Pujols but close enough, but definitely something on par of what he did back in 2006.

In 2006, Berkman hit .315 with 45 home runs, 136 RBIs and an OPS of 1.041.

Those are the type of numbers, Pujols-like as well, that I expect to see out of Berkman.

Maybe I'm unreasonable with my high expectations but I consider Berkman one of the best hitters in the game, and I don't feel he should take a back seat to anybody, even Albert Pujols.
