Kevin Gregg entered the game with a 4.14 ERA and was one of the worst closers in the game. He didn't deserve such a generous strike zone, a la Tom Glavine or Greg Maddux in their primes.

I remember Roger Clemens struck out Barry Bonds on a similar pitch location one time in 2004, during the first series of the season at Minute Maid Park. But even Clemens' pitch was two or three inches closer to the strike zone than the pitch Kevin Gregg threw today.

I'm guessing Geovany Soto sold the call with the way he framed the pitch and brought his glove inside a few inches, almost all in one motion, but the umpire should have seen that happen.
