Reports are that Jackson's albums, posters, videos ,etc. are flying off the shelves now and a lot of titles are on back order at places like Amazon. Which gets me to thinking. If we can off a major rock star like every other week, we may be able to crawl out of the recession. Two weeks from now, let's see Elton John killed off, then Paul McCartney two weeks after that then Mick Jagger, then Diana Ross, etc. And before long America and the world will have spent their way out of the recession creating a whole host of new jobs to keep up with the demand for dead artists' music. I mean, if one dying star can generate this much revenue imagine what could happen if this became a bi-monthly event? Of course, there comes a point where the rockers just aren't big enough to cause the massive outpouring of buying and I guess that probably happens right around the time we whack the remaining Bee Gees or possibly Madonna. Hey, it's only June! There's plenty of rock stars left for 2009.
