Over react much? I could maybe see you being this upset if he was the reason we weren't making the playoffs, but Wandy hasn't had the best year but it isn't nearly as earth-shatteringly bad you make it sound.

He has a 4.01 FIP, higher than 08,09 but not too bad (Better than: Haren, Dempster, Ian Kennedy, Hudson, Hamels...). He has a .354 BABIP, which is quite a bit higher than league average and any other point in Wandy's personal career. Which means, there is a bit of bad luck involved in Wandy's case. He is also stranding fewer base runners than his personal average.

Now, he is striking out fewer and walking more, but with a completely normal regression to the mean Wandy's numbers will work there way back to norms. Now, I don't know if his "poor season" is attributed to him throwing more change-ups than he ever has (twice as many as last year), but his start is no reason to impulsively write him off forever, considering his potential (I know he is in his 30's) and the fact that the organization spent 5+ years getting him to 3.02 ERA / 200+ innings. Keep in mind, his FIP has improved for 5 consecutive years prior to 2010.

Also, I tend to believe in the mantra "buy low, sell high" Making, Wandy a good signing for next year. (Unless of course he is hiding an injury)
