Yep, in both games it appears that Dr. Phil has turned into Dr. Hook too soon! How much more proof does he need that our bullpen S-U-C-K-S ! Qualls one night, Miceli the next, have worn the goat-horns; Wheeler and Harville have been OK, but nothing to write home about; poor ol' Mike Gallo, all he can do is warm-up, never gets into the mix. I keep wondering if Phil in desperation will want to go with a lefty just to see what'll happen! Couldn't be any worse! And I guess it was just a teaser to have RoyO out there tonight warming up; couldn't see any other reason for him to be up throwing. If Phil wasn't gonna use Lidge to be a stopper, then he dang sure wasn't gonna put Roy in! And without even swapping for Gallo to come in to give StL a different look from a lefty, and possibly make them shuffle their lineup as a result of Gallo, all Phil showed that he was managing with his fingers crossed while in his pockets!

But he showed way too much confidence in his relievers to yank his two starters in both games. I feel Backe could've pitched out of the jam before Phil made the trip, and I feel Munro was pitching better overall than Backe and could've been given the chance to pitch out of it.
