No problem with this comment per se, but in each case only one more out was needed to get out of an inning. And in each case, after the reliever came in the results were dramatically against the Astros, starting with the next pitch.

Perhaps it's true that Backe was gassed and Munro was solved (this latter point is debatable), but I would comment that in each case I bet they both could have gotten just one more out with the stuff they still had.

In Backe's case, 6 runs crossed the board by the time that last out was made. In Munro's case, 2 runs. By both accounts, the game changed dramatically to our detriment as a result of the starters not being allowed to attempt to get one more out.
