This is Major League Baseball, where the "human element" remains supreme.  We're not going to leverage technology like Hawk-Eye to remove the "human element" of umpire judgement from our games.

Here's a thought:  "How about the PLAYERS being the primary 'human element' of baseball instead of the Umpires.
I'm sure Tom Glavine would disagree, as he really enjoyed that extra-wide home plate he received for about 20 years....
