I've heard various comments from Luhnow stating that he thought this year would be better than what it has become. He honestly believed (according to the quotes) that guys like Humber, Ankiel, and Pena would be better than they were. Of course, that may have been public posturing. The question now in terms of guys like Springer and Singleton (and Wojo) is whether it is better to call them up now and finish the season stronger (winning between 60-65 games) or if it is better to wait until September and keep their rookie status' intact for 2014. I remember Bagwell winning the ROY in 1991 and it made the terrible season that much more tolerable. They won 65 that year but it seemed better and if we had a couple of awards candidates it would make 2014 look like real progress.
