Elmore is not bad, he's just not a shortstop. He has a walk rate north of ten percent which is rare. The big complaint I have with how the fans perceive these guys is that they are often put in positions where they can't succeed. It would be like putting Arian Foster at left tackle and then torching him for allowing Schaub to be killed. Elmore is not a shortstop. Ambriz was not a setup man. I like Elmore in a utility role as long as you understand he can't play short regularly. Asking him to play short was the crime. He was not the offending party.
