149 K only 73 hits (a difference of 76). Over twice as many K's as hits. Having a shit-ton of K's is one thing, doing it more than 2 times the amount of hits you get is another. None of these low average big strike out HR hitters (Adam Dunn, Mark Reynolds, even Carlos Pena) were anywhere near a 2:1 K/H ratio.

And Carter is almost 2:1 for his career (273:144). He struck out a ton in the minors, but at least he was getting hits too. In fact, he had more hits than K's in the minors (879:857). That hasn't happened so far in the Bigs. The guy would be a beast if he could make contact.

Granted, this is his 1st full season, but those numbers have got to improve big time for me to want him sticking around for very long.
